Léon le nul (2005)

Mika, l'enfant pleureur (2005)

Mika, l’enfant pleureur is Pascal Chevarie’s first professional production since he obtained his diploma from the National Theatre School of Canada. This 12th creation of Théâtre Bouches Décousues is at the center of the company’s 20th season and the first one signed by a young author invited by artistic director and in-house author Jasmine Dubé. For this occasion, the director Éric Jean chose to surround himself with actors who also are musicians. Following the company’s tradition, children assisted and participated in the different stages of the creation of this play.
Mika, l’enfant pleureur is a story about friendship, solidarity and hope. It talks about the meaning of life, the search for a better world, departures, encounters and far away places where fate has struck. The subtlety of the writing proposes a beautiful and poetic language, a strong and universal discourse and fascinating characters. In these troubled times when war extends its tentacles all around the planet, a young boy wishes his tears will extinguish the fury of a barbarian world. Firm believer in his quest, Mika the young member of a new resistance, lifts up mountains and wakes up dormant hope inside the human beings he encounters.

The Dressmaker (2004)

La Couturière is an invitation to visit an artist’s studio where everything begins with white: the author's page, the painter's canvas, the seamstress's bolt of cloth, the screen of light… La Couturière weaved her first thread in 2000. Jasmine Dubé and Sylvie Gosselin, both impassioned by theatre and visual arts, have wished to see these arts meet on stage. The creation of this show started among children, in an empty school class… From thread to needle, from writings to paintings, from workshops with children to workshops with artists, they prepared, with the complicity of Sonia Cloutier, an intimate journey for an audience of 30 people at a time, which can easily be adapted to different theatres’ geometry.

The Penguin (2001)
