The penguin

Penguins and other creatures: Passing thoughts on the state of our planet!

Wars, North/South relations, the environment… Through the story of Sebastien, a child with a deep passion for the North who’s mom is always too busy, and his encounter with Ernest, the serious head waiter in an international conference, Jasmine Dubé shares her thoughts about the future of the planet.

In this creation, Jasmine Dubé transforms the stage into a mirror of the world and tackles important questions about the future of the planet. Le Pingouin is a coproduction of Théâtre Bouches Décousues and the National Arts Center’s French Theatre. The play was first performed at Centre dramatique pour l’enfance et la jeunesse in Beloeil where it was awarded the 2001-2002 Audience Award.

Cast: Sonia Cloutier, Jasmine Dubé, Hugues Fortin, Denis Roy.

Le pingouin is published by Lanctôt Éditeurs 2002.
